Good Fringe Times

One of the best parts about Fringing is having conversations at the beer tent with fellow artists. Sometimes the chats have nothing to do about theatre, are completely silly and banal. But sometimes, they are incredily interesting and motivating. I am so relaxed right now because I don't have my MFA to stress me out and I can actually take the time to sit down, have a drink and simply talk to someone. It's lovely.

Also if you're at the beer tent, you can win prizes. I had already won a 20$ gift certificate to the Elgin Street Diner earlier in the day because I knew Kevin Waghorn's code word. Stewart decided to buy raffle tickets and won himself (and therefore myself!) a 50$ gift certificate for the Fish Market.

Looks like we'll be able to eat for the next two days!

Another odd event happened today. While Stewart and I were walking towards the beer tent, I suddenly decided to turn around. Sure enough, our old Fringe friend Jem Rolls was right behind us. Somehow, I just sensed he was there... weird. He's such a fantastic poet and his show is almost totally new material. Not to be missed.

Rubato's show went well today... we had a good house who enjoyed every pun with a sufficently hearty groan. Kinda rewarding actually. Only 15 more to go. Um... I'm also not particularly good with math.

I haven't seen any shows yet... I haven't had the time. I'm starting to wonder if I will have the time to see anything in Ottawa. With two shows, prepping for tour and moving out of my apartment, life is a little hectic. Luckily, I'm happy.
