One of Ottawa's best graphic designers and photographers, Petr Maur, sent me this shot that he took from one of the performance of 52 Pick-up. Talk about catching a nice moment!

What a difference a week makes

I'm sorry that I haven't written anything in a while. Stewart and I had plans to visit my parents Monday night for dinner. With the mention that we could borrow the car when we wanted and stay in their air-conditioned house for as long as we wanted (combined with the great free food, the country air, the cute cats and the lure of board games), we decided to stay for the week. It was soooooo nice. I was forced to take that week holiday that my doctor recommended I take before having a nervous breakdown... and I loved it!

Here are the highlights of my holiday week:
- Monday - dinner with my parents, my maid of honor Dalelle, her beau Pier and their lovely little boy Théo.
- Tuesday - lunch with my uncle Richard - He's retired now and spends his time reading, watching DVDs, going to garage sales, learning about molecular biology and other intelligent-craziness and writing essays about his life. He's a cool guy.
- Wednesday - sleeping - losing at Monopoly to Stewart SEVEN TIMES!
- Thursday - came to Ottawa to check on the cats, do some press stuff for Black Sheep Theatre and get more clothes. Stewart and I also spent over an hour (and 120$) in Toys R Us ... we bought a badminton set, Scrabble, Clue, Pass the Pigs and... the piece de resistance... a child's ice-cream maker!!! I always wanted one when I was a kid... and it was only 20$... and I was on holiday... so I splurged! And it makes pretty good ice cream too!
- Friday - CANADA DAY! - Stewart mowed the lawn with Dad's riding mower... he was very happy. We spent the rest of the day playing games and eating. Can't complain!
- Saturday - came back to Ottawa - went shopping for Stewart's wedding tux at Morris' Formal Wear, bought material for curtains at a fabric store, had dinner at The Keg and saw Rock and Roll at the GCTC.
- Sunday - Went to the Arrow on the Loon for Dave Dawson's 32nd birthday party. Good times.

Now it's Monday... it's bloody hot in our 6th floor apartment, and I really should be getting some work done. I guess it's back to normal again.

sniff

I want to go on vacation.
