Natalie Joy's Musings

5/30/2005

This is a typical sight during ICARUS rehearsals. The script is out and on the table. Guy and Stewart gaze into each other's eyes and recite their lines before we get up on our feet and do a run through. What you can't see here is me, behind the script/camera, beating my head against the table because of the length of time it takes them to do an italian. Nor can you see (or hear) what profanity comes out of these two lovely gentlemen while doing the italian. We are 10 days away from the opening and I think the pressure is getting to all of us. The guys really want to give the script a chance to be performed. I really want to tell this great story in an engaging way. Though it's kinda hard to accomplish our goals when the guys add the word "f***k" when they miss a line or when Stewart makes faces at me when I suggest new blocking. Ah well... c'est la vie... the show must go on... (insert other wise saying here). It's just the standard crunch time and we're all getting nervous. Normal... but still scary!
