Natalie Joy's Musings

On second thought...

Yes, we were one week before opening, but that actor was just as tired, nervous and frustrated as I was... and still did the right thing, came to rehearsal and apologized for even bringing up the matter of his friend's visit.

Yes, the city of Gatineau has a assured us that there is a broom closet in the building... but I have a budget for this show... why don't I just buy a brand new mop!?

Yes, the sweet sound of silence from turning off the heat can be obtained. The city eventually told us where the controls were... right next to the door of studio's entrance! Now all I have to do is figure out how to mask the timer's ticking sound.

Yes, I'm stressed out... but I'm still getting emails from cast members thanking me for the work we're doing.

Yes, I still have perma-migraine... but my doctor told me during my yearly physical that I'm in perfect health. He gave me a few highly addictive happy pills to take my headaches away. And on another plus note, there does come a point when you're totally exhausted that your body does allow you to fall into deep sleep. Thank goodness I'm not directing this show in my sleep anymore. I'm doing enough of that when I'm awake.

One two days left until opening!
