Natalie Joy's Musings

Well...

I've got the post-mortem for my show today. The comments about the show have been incredible so far, so I'm curious to see how "constructive" the response is going to be. Best case scenario - the panel ask me a question I have to really think about before answering. Worse case scenario - all the panel says is "It was charming... I loved it".

I leave for Toronto on Sunday to be the Assistant Director for a Soulpepper/NAC co-pro of Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing. The whole process is quite exciting, however, since I'll be gone for over three weeks, I need to make sure I bring everything I need to finish my MFA. This includes:

- my laptop, keyboard, mouse and possibly the wristpads to save me from further carpal tunnel hell.
- my readings, notes and four research books for my seminar paper.
- the show script, my post-mortem notes and my personal notes so I can write my post-production paper.
- four books that are on my compulsory list that I haven't read yet, but the notes from all the books I have read, so I can study for my final exam.

Oh, and I have to write a practicum paper as well... based on my observations of the The Real Thing.

I don't know if I'm going to have any room for clothes in my bag!

You're probably wondering why I list off all of these silly things for you all to read. Well, on one hand, it might give people who are considering pursuing graduate studies and idea of how freakin' hard and exhausting it is. And on the other hand, I like to bitch.

And to end this post... more shameless promotion!!!
There are only three shows left of Mouchoir de nuages.
To encourage (or possibly detract) you from seeing the show, here are some rehearsal photos.
