Relaxin' and hangin' in beautiful and picturesque... SUDBURY???
At least I get free internet at my hotel!!!
I should have expected this to happen... it always does. I've been feeling pretty horrible lately, but I thought it was only due to the stress of school. Well, I was only partially right. The reason why I wasn't feeling well was because my body was preparing itself for the standard, to-be-expected, cold from hell that I always get immediately after a really busy time in my life. This cold however is particularly nasty... it has decided to bypass the stuffy-nose symptom and go directly to the painful hacking cough. Nice. Now I have to make sure that I keep my germs away from the star of our one-woman show... kinda hard to perform both male and female characters if you have no voice. Besides, if I make her ill, she'll make me feel a whole heck of a lot worse than I feel right now.
ICARUS has been cast and I'm very excited to start work on it. Guy Buller and, the playwright himself, Stewart Matthews will be the two men who have to endure my direction on this new project. Stewart wasn't originally going to audition for the show, so he sat in on the auditions and helped with the cold reads... but the chemistry and listening between Guy and Stewart was so interesting that we decided to pair them up on this show. We don't have a completed script yet and we start rehearsals in less than two weeks... but we shall manage. It's amazing what improv can do.
52 Pick-up is coming along slowly but surely. The last rehearsal Stewart and I had was mostly spent trying out various lifts... none of which are actually useful for the show... but they are a good excuse for us to crawl all over each other.
As if we need an excuse!
So that's about it for now... I'll surely post another blog later on... Sudbury doesn't have much in the way of entertainment!
Later!

Yay! More reading material while I pretend to work!
Oh and I totally know what you mean about those colds. It's like your immune system says: "Fine, I will fight off this nasty little bug because you're so busy right now, but as soon as that let's up, I'm going on vacation!"
